About us
We started in Newman in 2009 with one excavator and a tipper. We still run out of the same yard.
How we started
Our first contract in 2009 was a laydown pad and 400 metres of access track for a drilling company east of town. We bought a grader the next year. By 2014 there was a workshop on the yard and a fitter on the books full time.
We have stayed a contractor rather than a labour hire outfit on purpose. We price the job, we run the crew and we carry the plant. That means we wear it when a job runs long. It also means a client deals with one company instead of four.
Leadership
Three people run the business. All three are contactable directly.

Grant Maddern
Started the business in 2009. He still prices most of the civil work himself and still gets to site every week, which is why our estimates and our programs tend to agree with each other.

Leanne Hoddy
Runs scheduling, the plant fleet and the workshop. Twelve years in Pilbara operations before she joined us in 2018. If a machine is late to site, she is the one who knows why.

Looks after concrete, structural steel and camp builds. He came up through the tools as a formworker and still checks set out on the bigger pours himself.
Vision and values
We want to be the contractor Newman keeps calling back in twenty years. That one idea decides most things here.
We turn work down rather than take a job we cannot crew properly. We tell a client early when a program is slipping, because the cost of finding out late always lands on them. And we pay what the job is worth, because the people who do this work have options and they use them.
None of that is unusual. It is just harder to keep doing in year fifteen than in year one.
