What we have been doing lately. Six updates from the yard and from site.

    Two new water carts join the fleet

    Both go to site next week. That takes the dust suppression fleet to seven carts, so we can hold two haul roads at once instead of shuttling one cart between them.

    Jigalong Road camp handed over

    The 96 room village for Boolgarrie Resources went across on 26 June, 31 weeks after the first pad was cut. The kitchen block ran two weeks early, which bought back the time the wastewater plant took.

    Four apprentices start with us this month

    Three mechanical and one civil, all four from town. They rotate through the workshop and out to site in the first year so they see both sides before they settle on one.

    The last of 1,900 cubic metres went down at Whitegum Iron on 19 May, ten days before we had planned to stop for the season. Night pours did most of that.

    Rehabilitation at Ophthalmia passes 30 hectares

    Stage 2 for Talwarra Minerals is now past 30 hectares reshaped, topsoiled and seeded. The first stage, seeded two seasons ago, has held its cover through a dry year.

    Second bay opens at the Newman workshop

    The workshop now takes two machines at once, with a 10 tonne gantry running over both bays. A top end rebuild no longer parks the rest of the servicing queue behind it.
